It's 2am. Slave 5 is dropping off PROFIBUS. Line is down.

Try this first:

Termination check — Measure pins B (3) and A (8) at both cable ends. Should read ≈60Ω. Open (>120Ω) or shorted (<50Ω) = faulty terminator.

Slave 5 power — Check 24VDC supply and PWR LED. The bus cannot recover if the slave is unpowered.

Address DIP switch — Verify hardware address is still set to 5. Vibration can shift DIP switches during production.
